Grindelwald is part of the most traditional Ski Ressorts in the swiss alps. The three peaks "Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau" are well known, as well the highest railwail station in Europe Jungfraujoch "Top of Europe".

To Ski in Grindelwald you can choose between 2 resorts:

Grindelwald First, directly from center you go up by the Aerial Cableway. For Beginners Route Number 1 from "Oberjoch" is the perfect place to learn. But there are a lot more places, also for the experianced Rider.

Kleine Scheidegg - Männlichen is located on the oposite hill and is not the perfect place for beginners, because slopes are more difficult. Perfect riders will enjoy the "Lauberhorn worldcup downhill". At Kleine Scheideg you will meet also a lot of people enjoying the snow without ski or snoboard. With "Jungfraujoch" and long Sledje runs everybody will enjoy the snow here.

Nicht nur ist die Schweiz das Land der Berge, die Schweiz hat auch die schönsten Seen der Welt. Auf den Strassen erreicht man manchmal schon 2500 NN und kann dann wieder in die Täler abfahren. Mehr bald.

Introduction to Switzerland from the World Factbook

Switzerland's independence and neutrality have long been honored by the major European powers and Switzerland was not involved in either of the two World Wars. The political and economic integration of Europe over the past half century, as well as Switzerland's role in many UN and international organizations, may be rendering obsolete the country's concern for neutrality.
