Davos of Sibiria

This small village got its reputation from some mineral springs and the wonderful location. Now it is a very popular destination for people from Irkutsk for a weekend trip. They come here to drink and have some relaxing days at the mountains. Some of them also use their free time to do some trekking tours to the mountains. There are a couple of trekking paths and some nice places to put a tent on.

There are only a few hotels offering international standard. Most of the locals have rooms to let. So you will always find some place to stay there. But these accommodations most have very basic standard, that means toilet and even water (cold) outside the housing.

Coming from Irkutsk you can go there by bus (ca. 250 R). There are buses to Sludjanka (ca. 130 R) every day at 7:30 and every second day to Ulan-Ude at 7:45 (about 10 hours).
