Where to stay Part 2 (alternative)

Save this article to your travelbook

Adding to jens' text I would not look for a place to stay in managua. I think this city is too big and too busy and even too poor (this is that forces the crime I think). It is an experience, of course. But Granada, nicaraguas jewel, is just 45 busminutes away. So I would suggest to take a bus to Granada from Mercado Central "Roberto Huembes" (ask for Mercado Roberto Huembes - some of the people there don't know Mercado Central or understand Mercado Oriental - that is quite away from Mercado Central...) and look there for a nice and quiet place to relax and calm down.

Where to Stay in Managua

In Managua I stayed in private house, so I didn't look for a hostel, but I saw some around the Airport which is a unpleasent place to stay. Many people got robbed in that area. Another place is around Mercado Huembes, which much nicer, but the hospedajes looked quite rotten. My advice for MAnagua is, come there by day, and find an acomondation right when you arrive. If you come at night ask the people around you, they either will rob you or help you. If you don't ask, you will get robbed only. Managua is tough.

Managua und die Erdbeben

Save this article to your travelbook
