If you travel by plane and your arrival airport is Rome-Ciampino (CIA) the easiest and cheepest way to the center (railway station Termini) is:
After leaving the airport building turn right and you will already see the busstop for the airportbus (marked with an A, bus enterprise is called Cotral). It takes you directly to the next metrostation 'Agnanina'. Duration of the drive approx. 10 minutes, without intermediate stops. Costs 1 EUR, leaving every 20-40 minutes.
From this very uncharming main bus terminal you take the metro right to the main rail station 'Termini'. It takes you another 30 minutes. One can buy metro tickets at the ticket machines (1 EUR, valid für 75 min) or at the Sali i tabacci-stores.
The Terravision (subcompany easyJet)also offers at a ticket-stand directly in the airport building an every-30-minutes bustransfer via Termini. Departure in front of the airport builing. Shuttle time also approx. 40 minutes - but quite expensive: 27 EUR round ticket.
