Bathing culture in Budapest

Save this article to your travelbook

In and around Budapest are many hot thermal springs. Because of that, there is a very good bathing culture in Budapest. You should try it! A nice (but a little bit more expensive and touristical) bath is the Gellert Bath at the . It costs about 2100 HUF (ca. 8 euros) per person. You don't need to bring your own bathing trousers with you. In the Gellert Bath (You can see it on the right side of the picture, I know only the mens bath...) you will find two big bassins (36 degrees and 38 degrees), a steam and a dry sauna.
The Rudacs Bath is about 500 years old and has a very interesting architecture. There are 5 bassins in the mens bath and also a dry and a very good steam sauna. This bath was redeveloped in 2005 (they have a new barcodesystem) and it costs 1800 HUF for thermal bath (3 hrs). Also nice and small is the kiraly bath (1100 HUF).
