Das Auswärtige Amt der Bundesrepublik hat für Guatemala einen Sicherheitshinweis veröffentlicht. Hab heute mit den Leuten vom Auswärtigen Amt telephoniert. Die Sicherheitswarnung wurde nicht aus einem bestimmten Grund herausgegeben, sondern besteht so schon seit 5 Jahren. Also, keine Aufregung -- aber Vorsicht ist immer angebracht.

During the second half of the 20th century, it experienced a variety of military and civilian governments as well as a 36-year guerrilla war. In 1996, the government signed a peace agreement formally ending the conflict, which had led to the death of more than 100,000 people and had created some 1 million refugees.

Ein- und Ausreise
Save this article to your travelbookEs ist zur Einreise nach Guatemala kein Visum erforderlich. Der Reisepass muss noch 6 Monate gültig sein. Man erhält bei der Einreise eine Aufenthaltsgenehmigung von 90 Tagen.
Bei der Ausreise (auf dem Luftweg) muss eine Gebühr von 20 USD bezahlt werden.
