Im Jahre 1443 wurde das Hospiz in Beaune von Nicolas Rolin, dem Kanzler des Herzogs Philipp der Gute von Burgund, erbaut. Es ist seit dem Mittelalter in perfektem Zustand erhalten.

Das Museum vermittelt einen Eindruck der damaligen Zeit und zeigt die verschiedenen Räume des Armenspitals im Originalzustand.
